#2: CVRPG

This one is a much longer comic. A lot of that is because this was the first true arc of the whole series and we had a lot to cover. All the character introductions, the main plot, the villains, everything else. On top of that, this is also the arc that had the most input from Mab (on that fateful car ride) so there's a lot of random stuff that got dumped into this arc. Later games were written mostly just by me and had more focus as there was only one author. This first game was all over the place, by comparison.

At the same time, you'll still notice that a lot got stripped out. The Other Heroes barely show up at all. Link's time running from Sindra (and then killing her) is all but gone. All the material with the Village Elders is completely removed. If it didn't matter to the main plot (and didn't have a huge effect on the games to come) I removed it.

We still do have a lot of character moments here, all the same. I kept everything that I knew would have a direct influence on later events in the series, so while some things, like Princess and Alec hooking up here, or Katrina falling for Darkmoon, might not seem to matter now, they absolutely matter down the road. Stripping things out doesn't mean completely throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

Man, I wish it did. This would have been a much longer strip.

Oh, one final note: I did include the Band here, and there will be inclusions for them, at appropriate spots, down the road. They should, technically, have made an appearance in Year 1, too, but since they hadn't been introduced yet (due to rearranging Year 1 and Game 1) it didn't feel right to put them in. I did think about it, though.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
