Whenever you see duplicates show up in popular media, people always have to struggle to find out who the real one is, and it's always a drawn out process... right up until the evil clone betrays everyone.

Angel has the right idea. Just cut through all the bullshit. Besides, Link is undead -- I'm sure the real one would be fine.

Or they throw some holy water at them... or they ask them if they'd be willing to give them free stuff from Link's shop.
