Although I left the joke the same here, Alec's armor used to be much more green that as it appears now. This is one of the few instances, actually, where I've gone back and change the artwork for the comic:
The armor I originally edited together just didn't work for me - it felt more green somehow than this set, and the colors just didn't feel very "Alec". After putting it into a few comics, I just decided it looked horrible and I wanted to change it. I made a new version, got it the way I wanted (finally), and then went back through and swapped out the new version for the old sprites.
Those of you that read the archive in the past: no, you weren't seeing things.
If you're curious, the old armor (marked as such) is in the Sprite Archive. It really isn't very good looking.
