#854: Just Wandering
This Comic's Storylines:
If I was trying to write an authentic comic set in the Middle Ages, I would have done research into the speech patterns of the time, and tried to find a way to write the comic to match the natural styles and slang of the period.
But then, if I was trying to be really authentic, I wouldn't be writing it in English, since none of these characters, arguably, would know English. So authenticity is totally overrated.
Still, every once in a while I have to stop and think "would they really say something like this?" Occasionally I even edit my first draft of text to give it a little more authenticity for the period. Just because they talk like Angel doesn't mean they can automatically start making references.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...
These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...
They actually do something heroic.
