Considering CVRPG/Zelda chickens, he's not far off.
This is one of the many things to wonder about the Zelda universe -- why do they give their kids so many truly dangerous items? Arrows I can see, and even a short sword for training purposes (and both for hunting). But what kind need bombs? Or magic rods? Or a boomerang that can stun ANYTHING?
