The Castlevania series is very vague on the matter of how Dracula gets his power. There's something about stones, and also a deal with the Devil (plus there's all the various plot from the original Dracula novel to contend with).
Basically, we'll just say if Other-Darkmoon stole Other-Dracula's power, he must have found some way to make it permanent.
