Claudette, Katrina's Shadow Clone, wasn't in my original plan for the comic. She was a lark I created at one point and she just stuck around, largely because she was fun to write. Over time she took on her own character and started evolving and it was one of those things that was a real delight to watch because it was a surprise even to me. This moment here, sacrificing herself to save her sister, and everyone else on the ship, just shows how far she's come.
Of note, if Claudette shared Katrina's curse this would be the point where she'd likely turn fully human. However, Claudette isn't cursed and can, in fact, change the way she looks any time she wants. That's why she looks as different as she does. However she does rather like certain cat-like features so she kept them.
Oh, and of course Angel ruins a really nice moment. It's his way.

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...
They actually do something heroic.
