This Comic's Storylines:
What's he really going to do? He can't kill them later on his timeline because that would be evil and he's no longer evil. But now, when he says, "I'm sure it'll all work out" he actually sorta knows that's true.
At least, I think this scene should take place before everything that happened in the previous arc, Forward to the Past. Earth was already ruined there, more than it already is, so that's the only way this makes sense. Causality!
