I will admit that I didn't think about putting bay doors on any part of the ship, but I certainly didn't expect there to be bay doors on every level, either. So if there aren't doors on the lower levels (or they A.I. is blocking them from opening, which is also another way of looking at this scenario), then someone has to blow a hole.
