Remember, Angel needs the gravitational pull of a planet to help anchor his portals. If he tries to leap around via his portals when he's out in the middle of deep space (as he did last comic since the ship isn't moored near any planets) his portals can go kinda haywire... as they are right now.
Still, he doesn't seem to need oxygen just yet so he very well might be okay...
