In my head, Link is relishing the chance to really get out in the field once again. Sure, he moved on from Veros (even if he'd kept a storefront open there part time), but he's still primarily a shopkeep. Deep down, though, the hero's life calls to him.

Indeed, that's what I like about CVRPG Link. He may have evolved and gotten more practical and less noble, but at the end of the day he still wants to be a hero, unlike some characters.
When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...
These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...
They actually do something heroic.
