#2100: Because Dwarves
I've had dwarves show up a number of times in the series, but never as main characters. Eventually I should probably add a dwarf to the main cast. A dwarf or an elf. One of the main, non-human races.
Dwarves are more interesting to me. They drink and they mine and they like to fight. Elves are... pretty. Not nearly as interesting, I find.

While true, you have a tendency to use "outcast" and "weirdos" and "those that stray from cultural norms" or whatnot. What's to stop you from having and elf that's interesting? Though I did just get an image in my head of a dwarf that acts like he's an elf (all superior to everyone and somewhat effeminate) and it made me chuckle so you're probably right that dwarves are more interesting...
