If you will note dawn is slowly rising across the town. The background is slightly darkened and washed out (but by the next comic it will be bright and sunshiny again) indicating a move away from night.
Now, this may seem a little odd, since it only recently became nighttime, but if I may point out: day and night only lasted five minutes in Simon's Quest. It's been long enough by that scale here.
