It's unclear just how quick a princess can change her clothes magically in this fashion. In Super Smash Bros. (where I take my queue for this ability), it's instantaneous, or at least it seems so. But some animes where the girls transition between outfits (and power sets, for that matter), the clothing sheds away before it's replaced, leaving a few moments of nudity.
Because it's Japanese and any excuse in their anime, right? And you'd think I'd like anime more because of that, yet I still just can't get into it.
