#979: Unlocked Potential

This Comic's Cast:

If this was a proper boss room, the door should have closed behind the heroes as they entered, forcing them to fight Frankie and Mummy without being able to escape.
Frankie and Mummy were planned as a joint boss fight in Gaiden (actually one a lot like the boss fight from the original Castlevania, wherein Frankie was the actual boss, while Mummy -- originally Igor -- was an invincible enemy that had to be avoided), so their appearance here is perfectly proper. Plus, it's Frankie and Mummy, and they always have to show up.
Of course, if we're talking game mechanics, there was no plan for a two player version of the game, so it's not as if Darkmoon and Alec could have been in the castle at the same time. That's a change for the sake of storytelling.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
