Angel's suggestion seems sound. Also, you could use fire as a counter-magic against the fire of the demons. It would, at the very least, damage them and maybe even cancel out their magic permanently (or at least as long as your magic was in effect).
Nice to seem some of the people they trained taking an active role in the battle, what with Darkmoon umping the gun and starting the whole attack early.
