If Gertie could do the Fosse hands when she said "magic", I'm sure she would have. It would have heightened the joke. In fact, just image she did do it, maybe with the Manos devices from Mystery Science Theater 3000 The Movie. That would work.
Hey, another delete scene (such as I'm calling them). This time it was a little extra gag I thought up that didn't necessarily work with the main comic. We already had a punchline, and this would have added extra padding the main strip. Still, I liked the moment enough that I had to put it together for posterity.
