Well, it is Angel we're talking about. This is totally what he'd do.
I guess with Ceres being around he can center himself just enough to find the ship out in the black? I will admit I found his action funny even if it takes a little work to justify how he can get away with it.

Hmm. I can't remember if interplanetary travel was beyond Angel's abilities. Because if it isn't, he could have gone back to the tavern on earth, when it was still there.

Given that he had just come from a vessel, getting away from Ceres would be easy. All he'd have to do is account for the orbit.
