The fun of doing this new art style is that I get to create a bunch of backgrounds as I need them, doing as I like without having to try and find sprites that will kinda-sorta fit in with my ideas.
In this case, I don't know that I ever would have found a proper elevator for this strip were I doing the old-style sprite comics. So instead, I drew a pretty decent little elevator shaft (I think, anyway), one that allows me to do a decent vertical layout.
