#2499: Compensating

This Comic's Storylines:

Like with the explanation of the Terran, going over one of the Terran ships just gives us a bit of an idea of the universe we're dealing with. Right now I don't have any plans to deal with their ships in conjunction with our own, but it's good to have it there, and if I ever have to do large ship sequences, now we have context. Hurray!

Just curious, since we've moved from a fantasy era to a sci-fi one, what happened to all of the non-human intelligent species on Earth? Did they all die? If so, how? Would characters like Franky, Mummy, and Bucky be hunted to extinction for being overtly undead? And of course there's Elves and Dwarves and so on. Or is this some kind of alternate universe where those things still exist?

I kind of figured most of them were either bred out or died out when the "belief" in magic faded. Most of the races were simply chalked up as fanciful stories as the collective human memory rewrote itself. Makes the most sense.

Wouldn't that mean that Darkmoon would have been affected by this? Or is it that his ignorance of the belief in magic disappearing allows him to continue existing? Then again, immortal vampire, and every other vampire was taken care of before the time skip, so that may not have anything to do with it.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
