#2432: The Air Up There
This Comic's Storylines:
See, Photoshop really hates how detailed my Illustrator vector files are. I sorta went all out in drawing everything, which makes it all look nice, but it cause Photoshop to sputter and die. So I've had to bail on doing comics in that program (which hurt, since I've gotten so used to it) and now I'm relearning all my processes in Illustrator.
Since I had to redo everything anyway just so I could get work done, I too the opportunity to increase the page number at the bottom of the comic page (as requested by readers.) I also think doing this through Illustrator makes the text a bit crisper and easier to read, although that may just be me.
Downside is these comics take longer to make now, at least until I learn what I'm doing, so I can't shove these out as fast as I'd like. But, eh... I'll get better at this.
Meanwhile, storywise, I felt I had to address a few quibbles about taking a ship like this into space. It doesn't seem space-worthy, but Darkmoon has some of it covered anyway. A magical bubble of air could, for at least a while, give everyone enough air to breathe. Solves that problem.
Of course, thinking it through while writing this comic I realized I had no way to explain how artificial gravity would work (we're edging close to Time magic there, which I explicitly don't want my characters to be able to use regularly) so I just tried to come up with a simple hand-wave what would work (while at the same time explaining nothing at all).
Feel free to debate the merits of a magical solution to artificial gravity.
When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...
These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...
They actually do something heroic.
