Dracula battles end because the heroes has finally managed to wear him down. While we could all argue over if this last blow was "climactic" enough, suffice it to say it was a long enough battle that I feel like we all were ready for it to be end. It didn't go on too long, but it lasted long enough.
If a treasure drops from an enemy, I always take it. Even if I don't need it, in my head I'm like "but what if the computer code pays attention to my disinterest and is programmed to give me even less treasure next time. 'Well if that's not good enough for you, I certainly won't give you any more treasure!'"
