If you can attack certain targets in an RPG there is the possibility of rendering some targets null once they've taken enough damage. They may still remain on screen, but you aren't able to do anything to them.
Of course, other RPGs have it where once you've damaged a target enough you break it open and then you can do a lot more damage to it (a weak point). Princess just had to check.
