In RPGs you defeat the end boss and the game takes over, ushering you back home. While that is certainly narratively convenient, it doesn't seem especially realistic considering a situation like this.
Although this is a series with vampires, catgirls, and recently a giant floating skeleton mask cum necromancer, so realism is certainly a relative term.
