Presumably Darkmoon didn't turn into a bat and go flittering off, since he doesn't have that power any more -- lost it when he got his soul, along with her vampire charms.
Instead, I just imagine Darkmoon doing exactly what he did in the last comic -- turning around and walking away any time to subject of religion is brought up.
