As the comment on the comic implies, what I wanted to create with this battle was something more akin to a tactical RPG. We've had a lot of standard RPG battles (and even a time or two in a battle arena), but tactical RPGs are a different beast, and I wanted to at least get a bit of the feel for them (the huge numbers, that opposing units) in this series.
The way I look at it, I've managed to parody every other type of RPG I can think of, so why not throw in tactical RPGs while I'm at it?
