I don't know how much of this story i wrote for the Space Pirates is actually true. But, then, let's be honest, the Space Pirates always show up. They're everywhere, and always doing evil. They must have huge numbers (or get grown in the lab), otherwise how can they always be around?
So if they're traveling around in her space ship, and they're dealing with shit in Samus's timeline, that must mean however Samus got down to Earth of the past (for her), she was then able to reverse it.
Man, my continuity is all kinds of fucked up when it comes to the Other Heroes.

I take it you hadn't played Metroid Prime 1 or 2 by the time you did this strip (they were both out). First, the Space Pirates have monstrous numbers and can restore their leaders from little more than just a brain. Second, their grunts and mid-rankers ARE grown in labs, allowing them to replenish their numbers at an insane rate.

I honestly can't remember. But from the sound of it, the story I wrote works, so I'm happy.

One thing that I appreciate, Mike, is that I have played almost NONE of these games and yet I still mostly get the jokes and enjoy the comic. Your story is working just fine.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
