#137: One Down...
We have actually successfully completed a quest. Almost a cheat how quickly he managed, although I recall the quest for the magic mirror (one of three quest items in King's Quest) was pretty easy, too. Find a knife in a log, go to a well, cut bucket off well-rope, lower rope, go down rope, dive down in well, find dragon cave in well, douse dragon, receive mirror.
Considering the random crap you had to do to get the magic shield in that game -- get a four leaf clover to protect yourself against leprechauns (since they have the shield), but you have to get a chunk of cheese to fight off a giant rat protecting the shield cave, but you also need a violin, and to get the violin you need a magic bowl, and there's a giant bird you have to catch, and... and... and... -- the magic mirror was practically linear in design.
