In Circle of the Moon Nathan could get frozen and then, while frozen, he could be hit again to get unfrozen (while also, admittedly, taking a ton of damage in the process). In previous Castlevania games, like Dracula Curse, if something was frozen it would then shatter the next time you hit it. If I were Carmilla and Zombie Sypha, I dunno if I'd like those odds.
