#3316: Out In the Open

This Comic's Storylines:

It's something I always found weird about the Castlevania Metroid-style games -- you're exploring the castle and then, magically, there are just maps referencing portions later in the dungeon simply sitting out there. Sure, in some of the later Castleroids you can buy the maps from shopkeeps, but they all have at least a couple pf maps sitting there for you to find if you don't want to spend the money. Like, did Dracula really think this was a good idea? He's already set all these magical items out in places the heroes can reach, all to help them eventually reach the end of the castle for the big, final fight. Invariably it actually makes them stronger in the process, so why give them maps to only speed that process along even further? Does Dracula even want to win at this point?

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
