Golem is the most direct person in the crew. If there's a problem he'll either gun right towards it or sit around for centuries waiting for it to go away (which, if you think about it, is also a direct way of solving the problem). Locked out of a space station? Tear a hole in the side. That's certainly the most direct path in, and since Golem is seemingly invincible, it's not as though it'll cause him any problems.
Everyone else on the station is another matter, of course...
