Admittedly, Gertie could technically answer the call herself since she's now a bridge officer (remember, she was made into a lieutenant). Still, I could see it being a case where Gertie isn't programmed to answer calls from outside agents. I could see that making a certain amount of sense.
Just might have been good to have someone other than Claudette answer the call.
