#2970: Play By the Rules

This Comic's Cast:

I do not know why they sent Claudette over to handle this. She's Katrina without any fucks to give, and Katrina already has a tenuous grasp of fucks to begin with. This was just a terrible idea.

Is the Admiral going to have to explain the difference between friend and foe next?

You know, I honestly feel like Justine Prelude really kind of has very little of a leg to stand on here. Think about it: She requests that the party helps fight the stalkers... how? She basically tells them to help and then gets angry at every attempt they make TO help. And she’s supposed to be military, but she recruits the party and then gives them zero sense of direction or any indicator of what they’re supposed to do to help. Following orders is the basis for military structure, with commanding officers setting out what tasks to give to subordinates and subordinates following those orders or doing their best to make their CO’s desires reality. She didn’t give them any orders OR guidelines beyond “help us beat the stalkers” and then when they started doing just that, she throws a fit about it even though SHE brought on outside contractors and gave them literally NO direction, and even shot at them. She could have just said “thank you for the info, we’ll handle it” and not had to deal with this headache, but she didn’t. Hell, she could have been tapping Claypool to give her updates and then tried to adjust the explosive drones and/or the illusions into a larger tactical strategy. The party proved they had a LOT of useful, if unreliable and flakey, assets. As dangerous as the party can be to law and order, they actually did achieve the goal set for them, and with a minimum loss of life too! So yeah, she’s really got no leg to stand on here. Justine’s kinda a shitty military commander if this is how she acts. But it IS funny.

And funny is really all I'm going for. ;)

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
