I know, doing a 2001 joke. Dumb, right? And yet, I really liked the thought of Gertie pulling this gag. Something about it amused me, and that has always been the overriding motivator for this series. If it amuses me, I do it.
Plus, I like the idea of Claypool not knowing pop culture that all of us know. We've moved so far into the future the pop culture references are once again out of the characters' knowledge base. Pretty amusing.
