A lot of readers guessed that Link would be the new character added to the comic. While I can see why -- he is immortal, after all -- I'm trying to avoid populating the future with a bunch of copyrighted characters.
We're going a different route now, and while Dracula will still be around (as will many of his minions) they're all technically in the public domain. Frankie, mummies, werewolves, Carmilla -- there are plenty of monsters (famous and less so) that are in the public domain and are free for me to use.

Interesting to hear that Link is gone now. I assume that means Samus is out too, though I suppose she'd have died of old age by now (funny since we've finally caught up with a time period more fitting for her). I do feel like maybe we could've gotten a more ceremonious farewell for Link, considering how major of a character he was for a while, but oh well.

Well, Link is still a pretty active character over in DSWC, so it's not as if I totally removed him from the overarching series. ;)
