#2016: Four Against One

This Comic's Storylines:

All valid reason, to be sure.

So why does this battle, which is pretty long, just get regular numbering while Comic 2000, which was also a long battle, just get a single "number" for its whole series? Well, part of that is just the humor of it. I'm entertained by taking the concepts of "comic numbering" and "linear order" and screwing with them. I want to try and break some of the fundamental expectations of web comics, and just messing around even with the whole concept of comic numbering is one thing I can do. It's the same reason why, at the end of Comic 1000 we went back and revisited Comic 800 (even going so far as the officially name those last comics "comic800*.gif"). I want to break things apart and see what holds up.

Also, Comic 2000 took place in a pocket universe. It just felt like I could emphasize how special that battle was, and the weird rules surrounding how it was supposed to work, by making it all part of one long "comic".

Here, though, as fun as this battle is, it's another battle with Dracula. Cool, but not exactly "special". A good final round before we get into the final stretch of comics for Game IV.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
