Its interesting to see this battle be difficult in ways that the preceding epic fight with the Sorceress never was. Of course, that fight involved eight heroes instead of one (because no one counts Darkmoon).
But it also aligns with the Castlevania series. There have been late-game surprise fights that turn out harder than the supposed end boss. Take Lament of Innocence, for example -- I was handily able to beat Walter in that game (the Dracula analogue), but then Death shows up and kicks my ass all over the field. Never did beat that game because of Death.

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...
