#1102: A King's Adventure
Although I didn't say anything about it at the time I hinted repeatedly where I cribbed this adventure from: King's Quest. The title of the comic hints at it, the comment on the comic mentions I'm "going old-school", since ht game is so old. Even the previous comic title, A Quest that Just Drops In" is another nod. I wanted people to figure out I was riffing on King's Quest.
Far as I know no one did.
Anyway, in that game to become king of the realm (since the old king was dying without any successors) you had to go out and find three items - a crown, a chest, and a mirror. The same three items as here.
When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...
These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...
They actually do something heroic.
