Katrina is not a witch. Witches use a specific set of magic (usually the dark arts), group into covens (requiring at least three witches in total), and do most of their work from their home (cottage, lab, gingerbread house, whatever).
Katrina is not a mage, as mages usually mix combat skills along with weaker magics.
Katrina is a Sorceress (although wizardess would also be an applicable term, if you were allowed to do that to the English language). She keeps her own magic internally (aside from a spell book for study purposes), and she doesn't need a lab (or other home base) to cast her spells.
In her eyes, being called a "witch" is a slap in the face. She's better than that.
