There are two ways to look at it. Either it's awful that Darkmoon just killed a past friend of his without even really blinking, or it's good that Darkmoon just took out an evil vampire fiend. I think we all know which way Darkmoon feels about it.
Really, though, a vampire that old should have had more HP than that. True, this is, canonically, the first "game" in the series, so the heroes would be weaker and the enemies they face would also be appropriately weaker to match. It's just, still...
