Here's the explanation for his name and why he changed it. It was actually here that someone pointed out the continuity error, which is why I made this comic, just to fix it. Damn me for not paying attention.
It goes without say that in the old RPG this comic is based on, Darkmoon's name wasn't Herschel. It was just Xavier Darkmoon, pronounced with a hard X noise. I thought Xs were cool back then, and now I'm stuck with that bad decision. I wouldn't have named him that now if I had the chance, but as I said, too late now.
