As we have proven throughout the series, Darkmoon really doesn't have much of an issue killing his own kind. He'll take out anyone that's more evil than... well, than Darkmoon. He is his own benchmark for evil, and it's actually not a bad benchmark, really. Most people would get a pass on that scale.
