#1: Father and Son

This Comic's Cast:

With Out of the Darkness we explored Darkmoon's background, learning details that had been hinted at in the comics prior. With Journey of the Holy, though, we get a lot of story elements that had never even been discussed before. As we knew Alec went to Holy Warrior School at one point, and then met a girl, was graduated early, and just ventured out into the world. What we never learned, at any point, was how Alec got to school.
The goal of this series, upon first conception, was just the throw Alec from one random locale to the next, basically making it out that his whole adventuring life was one big series of random circumstances.
Also of note, this series employs a slightly different story-telling style from the previous ones. As I mentioned at the start of Out of the Darkness, the goal was for each back story to have its own storytelling style. Here, the comics are narrated by journal entries from Alec; comments, Doogie Howser-style, on things he learned and thoughts that came to him during the day.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
