DSWC Heroes Introduction #8: The Mighty Mustache
Despite Mario's long history fighting in the Mushroom Kingdom, his first and (perhaps) most famous didn't take place in that land. No, Mario's first game took place on Earth, and it wasn't against Bowser but a gorilla named Donkey Kong.
As the story goes, before Mario became famous, went to the kingdom, and met his love Princess Peach, Mario worked in a circus minding the great ape. When the ape escaped and took Mario's then-girlfriend Pauline captive, Mario had to work his way (over and over) through four areas of the construction site Donkey Kong ran off to.
Of note, Donkey Kong and his family went on to star in a series of games of their own, including the Donkey Kong Country series (a platforming series staring DK's grandson), and the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series (a series of puzzle games, featuring, oddly, little Mario Toys as the puzzle item).

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...
They actually do something heroic.
