The point is, how can Darkmoon us garlic as a weapon against the minions of Dracula, and yet Raye can eat it. Easiest explanation is that vampires can develop a dark-magic immunity to garlic. One of the many dark gifts they could earn.
Personally, I'd ditch the garlic eat-ability and take more points it Awesome Vampire Flight.
Also, as I like to point out, we have the Veros/Jova confusion. A possible genesis for that, in continuity.
