#2: In the Forest
One thing I wanted to do with each of the back stories was to find a way to tell it that was a little different from the main archive (and Tales of the Fallen, really). For Out of the Darkness, the series is told, by Darkmoon, to some unnamed person or group of people. Darkmoon will narrate along to his past (mis)deeds.
Also, I quickly hand-wave away the fact that Darkmoon looks and dresses exactly the same as he does in the main archive. It's a new cloak, and it takes a while to break in. Good, sturdy cloak.

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...
They actually do something heroic.
