Question #3, Continued: A Shot to the Ego

You ever notice how most parody game comics seem to have pretty unoriginal names: Kirby Adventure, Zelda Comic, uh... Castlevania RPG. Shit, I did myself in there. But, in fairness, the name of the comic came directly from the forum-based RPG that spawned this whole series which was named, very creatively, "Castlevania RPG". Once that stuck there was no going back.

I tried to find good art for the original Final Fantasy, but it just doesn't seem to exist. I settled for FF7 simply because it was pretty.

Last I checked this is the longest running Castlevania comic by a huge margin. Hell, I don't even know if another comic dedicated to Castlevania is even running right now. I should go look again...

You might be interested to know that this comic actually contributed to my growing interest in the Castlevania series. Back when I first started reading this, I knew very little about Castlevania, but this was made by the brother of the artist of my favorite webcomic and seemed to share a similar sense of humor, so I decided to give it a read. Now, I wouldn't say this is the only thing that contributed to my interest in the series (ProtonJon also played a role, as well as the fact that it was a natural series to turn to upon discovering I really like metroidvania style gameplay), but it was one of the factors.

Much appreciated! Also, I used to watch ProtonJon all the time. Good stuff.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
