If you're baking clay, you don't want any air in the clay itself. If there's any air in it, the air will super heat, expand, and cause the clay to violently explode.
Thus, being out in a vacuum won't hurt the clay. It's already airless, so there won't be any air to be sucked out of Golem. His structure, at least, would be left unphased.
