Well, it's a fair observation. The novel Dracula has the vampire wives, but the Castlevania series never shows them. There's not even a nod towards it, short of maybe sort of a passing "could be" with Rosa in Castlevania 64. Even the games set after the novel, like Portait and Bloodlines, don't have the wives.
As far as Richter knows, the vampire wives are just a myth.

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...
They actually do something heroic.
