#454: One From the Spell Book

This Comic's Storylines:

It seems like just about anything can tear a rift in the universe. Apparently the universe is just not that strong -- made of tissue paper, or over-used velcro.

Shatter is a great spell, especially when you use it inappropriately. It's supposed to work only on glass objects, which seems kinda silly when you think about it -- why make a spell that works only on glass? Shouldn't it work on anything with a solid, crystalline structure? Couldn't that, then, mean it could be applied to a variety of substances with the right amount of power and an appropriate gesture or something?

These are the things I love to do when playing an RPG -- purposefully break the system.

And, of course, a reference to the fact that, eventually, Alec gets himself a groovy shield. That's the nice thing about a prequel series: I can reference stuff that happens later for comedic effect.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
